C.J. is one half of the so-called Stringer Twins. Together with her partner Amanda Riker, they maintain the network and communications infrastructure at Whateley Academy. They're a team, where one is, the other is close by. They don't seem to be actually related.

- “Collateral damage,” her partner said, stepping forward. She was a svelte woman with black hair and nearly black eyes. Jade thought her ancestry might be African, but the woman’s skin was that café-au-lait color that could be anything from a light black, to Hispanic, to Caucasian with a good tan.
- “Hi, I’m C.J.,” the woman said, offering her hand.[1]

C.J. gets introduced to Jade while they're putting new cable in between Melville Cottage and Poe Cottage. She and Amanda think Jinn is a gift from God.
They're both in the network upgrades funded by NEXT as part of the package for Paige Donner.[2]
