The Fools Fight is the infamous super-powered battle between the supervillain Entropy and his minions on one side and his nemesis, the hero Battery and his team, the First City Irregulars, on the other. It happened on April 1 1991 in the air over the Brooklyn bridge. Entropy and his minions had trapped a large number of civilians by barricading or smashing the ends of the bridge during rush hour and threatened them to force Battery to fight him face to face. Battery managed to kill Entropy, but died as well, as did most of the minions and many civilians. The event marked the end of the First City Irregulars as a team.

While the event is not unique for the number of casualties, it was covered live on TV and the iconic imagery has since become a symbol for many different aspects, among them heroism, evil, the situation of normal humans with respect to supernatural entities and the fate of the planet. It played a pivotal role in the US presidential campaign of 1992 and the subsequent empowerment of the MCO.

At Whateley the Fools Fight is the subject of classes, examining strategy and ethics and simulating the battle for training.[1]

A cameo into the Fools Fight is in The Quantum Suicides#Part 1
