Gloria Conrack was an African American woman who worked for the Baltimore Police department, who was the focus of the eponymous affair that happened at some point between February 2001 to February 2002, when Chaka was nine years old.[1]

"She got caught up in some kind of scandal - to be honest, I’m not too clear on the details. Anyway, there was a lot of feeling that she was being persecuted - or at least shafted - because she was Black. It was front page news for a few days in Baltimore. Then Reverend Gideon Thorne came to town, and got involved."[1]

"Gloria sort of got shoved off to the side. ... nothing really happened that cleared Gloria in any, or had any impact on how things were really done."[1]
