These are the future supervillians. Or are they? The Masterminds don't exist officially. For a group that doesn't exist, they spend an awful lot of time dodging the Spy Kids.[1]

Since they don't officially exist, their faculty sponsor can't be Ms. Hartford.[2]

The attempt to steal the Variable Interface Devise; they'd have done it too, if not for Wallflower and Lancer not being sufficiently into each other on their date.[3]

They go to Boston on a job for Ms. Hartford, only to get dry-gulched by The Necromancer and the Children of the Night. Team Kimba of all people save their lives.[2]

Phase came to an agreement to share information with them.[1]

In the 2005-2006 school year, the Spy Kids "put Latchkey and Nightfox in Juvie [and Dupraeve, who put the ‘Evil’ into the Masterminds, into flight, it left] the Masterminds run by a bunch of Sophomores and Froshes!”[4], who are now the Juniors and Sophomores of the Masterminds, in 2006.
